About the Event
“Put down your trumpet, jazzman—I’m in the mood for love!”
Combining a vintage sound with classic material to a thrilling effect, singer Shannon Wolfe showcases her favorite songs from film noir as pianist John Wilson reimagines the moody soundscape of noir jazz with his own, personal touch.
You’ll hear songs from noir films such as Gilda ('46), The Hucksters ('47), Laura ('44), The Bribe ('49), To Have and Have Not ('44), The Blue Gardenia ('53) Affair in Trinidad ('52) Dead Reckoning ('47), I Walk Alone ('47), and more; recalling the notorious femme fatale sirens who made them so famous.
"Film noir has a mood that everyone can feel. It’s people in trouble, at night, with a little bit of wind and the right kind of music. It's a beautiful thing." David Lynch
